Posh Mattresses

Built by Hand.
Tufted by Hand.

The tuft.
Take note and behold.

The tufts on the top of the mattress are beautiful and functional. And they are more than that. They are your cue that this mattress is built by human hands who love their craft and not mass produced in a mega plant with robots. Hands that cut the fabric with scissors one piece at a time, stitch the seams with sewing machines one inch at a time starting and stopping as needed, and carefully placing one layer on top of the other.

Mattresses tufted by hand provide significant benefits.

Beyond their luxurious, timeless appearance with elegant woolen tufts, hand-tufted mattresses deliver a distinctive, resilient, and highly supportive feel. The tufting process prevents the layers in the mattress from bunching developing valleys. The hand tufting process compresses the mattress layers, driving long needles with ribbon binding tape through them, securing these tufts with rosettes on the top.

The woolen tuft is a signature for handmade not machine made.

Lift it and decide.

A Posh mattress is heavier than other premium mattresses, plain, and simple. It is heavier because it uses higher density foams. A mass market mattress uses 1.1, 1.2, 1.5 and at the very top end 1.8 density furniture grade foam. You can feel the difference by lifting the corner of the mattress whether you know the specifications of the foam or not. Our mattresses are exclusively built by hand from natural latex rubber along with 2.0- and 3.0-pound density foams. Denser foam is heavier foam, and it can last significantly longer. You’ve likely heard of the “4 C’s” when buying a diamond, the equivalent of that for mattresses is looking at the density of the foam in a mattress, density is the “1 D” and you know it by weight.

The corner of the bed is a signature for high density foams. Density is durability.

Highs and Lows

Not all premium-priced mattresses get the details right. Many are unnecessarily tall because they rely on an excess of ordinary materials instead of exceptional ones. Our mattresses are crafted to the ideal height, using unique and superior materials that deliver authentic luxury, not bulk. Our mattresses range from around 12-14” tall and sit on your choice of 2”, 5” or 9” tall foundations.

Peaks and Valleys

Many premium priced mattresses feature exaggerated peaks and valleys that feel uneven on the surface. Some are too deep, leaving the surface feeling indented and bumpy on your body. Designed for visual impact rather than comfort, they look luxurious but don’t feel it. Built for the showroom and not the bedroom, the camera and not the body, and mostly for eye appeal instead of sleep comfort, they sacrifice feel for looks. Our mattresses are crafted with more subtle and smoothing peaks and valleys designed to be slept on, not just seen.Authentic luxury is about experience over all things.
